Hepatitis C is a contagious liver disease caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV), which can lead to a mild, short-term illness or progress into a serious, chronic condition. It is one of the most common blood-borne viral infections affecting the liver and a major cause of parenterally transmitted hepatitis. With six known genotypes, each responding differently to treatment, careful diagnostic screening is essential to determine the most suitable therapeutic approach. Conventional management typically involves combination antiviral therapy with interferon and ribavirin. However, the role of homoeopathy in managing Hepatitis C remains relatively underexplored. This case report highlights the journey of a 42-year-old male with chronic gastrointestinal complaints and systemic symptoms over three years. It emphasizes the homoeopathic approach, grounded in the understanding of disease pathogenesis, individual symptom analysis, and remedy selection through repertorisation and materia medica differentiation.
The case will be divided into 5 modules:
Module 1- General Introduction and receiving of case- Dr. Hitesh Purohit
Module 2 – Clinical presentation and Epidemiological Determinant- Dr. Khyati Dodiya & 1st BHMS Student
Module 3 – Life space evolution and understanding patient as a person – Dr. Khyati Dodiya
Module 4 – Totality of the case, Materia Medica differentiation and Final prescription – 1st BHMS Student
Conceptualization and Final Prescription- Dr. Hitesh Purohit
Happy Learning!!
