“I.C.R. has been most active: last two years.
Thanks to the learners, lay as well as from the profession. Who try their best to teach us most critically, what we know not: that despite our best efforts and beliefs, they are finding it as difficult as ever to learn!
For us, that is the best thing that can happen: it launches us on better innovations, representations, explanations and so forth.
Our close friends: brand us as selling old wine in new bottles dazzling bright with shapes fantastic and diverse! It is difficult: even for us: to have new wine bubbling forth from the fountain-head of Totality.
Our appreciation remains the same as ever.
We respond to the demand,
Law –abiding that we are: our supply reflects the Learner, ever changeable.
Good teaching demands accommodation: on our part.
Hence a new PRESENTATION: of TOTALITY and its ESSENCE. We have found it useful as a device in promoting better clarity.
We hope you find it likewise.”
– Dr. M. L. Dhawale, Perceiving 1
Five years ago, when we launched JISH, these lines of Dr. M. L. Dhawale sir struck me the most and the first editorial started with these very words. Now, on the 5th anniversary of JISH when we embark on the next phase of our journey, we felt the need to connect afresh with our audience.

A scientific journal is a structured format, has a limited frequency of publication and is subjected to a stringent peer-review process. But, just like MLD sir wrote- we need to change and adapt as per the changing needs of our readers. The new age learners do not want to restrict themselves to only one medium of learning. So following the advise of MLD sir, we have been innovating- slowly, consistently and hopefully for the good. Our experience with JISH taught us that there is an immense need for a dialogue with the learners and it must be in the way they want it.
Hence the idea of a learner centric newsletter in Homoeopathy was born. We have now been active in the areas of Under-graduate (UG) education (at Sumeru), Post- Graduate (PG) Education (at Palghar), Doctorate level Studies (both at Palghar and Sumeru), non-formal postgraduate education at all our centres for a few decades and understand the needs and demands of the ever-evolving learner. Hence with a need to broaden our roots, and connect to the wide variety of our new-age learners, the growing tree of Journal of Integrated Standardized Homoeopathy (JISH) has a new offshoot- ‘Integrated Homoeopathy Newsletter (IHN)’. This e-newsletter will be more learner centric and will appeal to the practitioners, academicians and researchers alike.
Thanks to advancing technology- we have been able to innovate significantly. While traditionally, there has been a barrier between the performer (writer) and the audience (reader) referred to as the fourth wall in the performing arts. IHN will transcend it and be interactive directly with the reader. Additionally, it will not restrict itself to print- but will use audio, video, podcasts, animations, doodles, drawings and various other forms for expression, to connect with its reader. The newsletter will have interesting caselets, clinical conditions seen in practice with short interactive discussions on them, audio/ video lectures, regular podcasts, community health initiatives, research updates in homoeopathy, educational features and much, much more. All these initiatives will be learner centric as the care and growth of the learner is the goal of the newsletter. It will be primarily a monthly newsletter, which will be delivered right in your email box. It has been tailored to adapt to your devices- computers, laptops, mobile, iPad and even has been imbedded in an app (for both- android and iOS users). The aim of the newsletter will remain the same- to promote Evidence based Scientific Homoeopathy.
A team comprising of faculty members and learners at both Palghar, and Sumeru will be overseeing the entire production and publication of IHN. Dr Sonam Tiwari Mishra, Assistant Editor, JISH & Assistant Professor, Dept of Medicine, MLDMHI, Palghar teams up with Dr Shraddha Shendre, Assistant Professor, Dept of Community Medicine, SMKSHMC, Sumeru. Both will jointly coordinate the IHN. The learners will be an integral part of the entire process of publication and their crucial contribution will help us in remaining learner centric.
So, we present to you a new expression with the same old essence and quality. Hope you enjoy reading it.
Happy Reading!
Regards,
Dr. Nikunj Jani
